Talaash 2012

There is good news for all bollywood buffs, a new film, by the name of Talaash will be releasing in the month of June, 1st of June to be precise. The teaser trailer of the film is already out and it was launched in the theaters along with the release of Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt starer, Agneepath, which was released on the 26th of January, nationwide. I saw the trailer and here’s what I got about Talaash 2102 movie, from the trailer.

What is Talaash all about?

When you see the trailer of the film you will realize that the film is very different from the ones that we normally get to see. The trailer does not have any mush and looks mysterious. The film has the tagline, “The answer lies within”. We concluded that the film is a psychological thriller and that is something that many will be looking forward to, especially those you are fed up with the regular romantic comedies that Bollywood produces by the dozen.

The cast and crew of Talaash
Talaash has some of the greatest actors of Bollywood cinema, in the form of Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee. The supporting cast of the film includes Subrat Dutta and Raj Kumar Yadav.
Talaash is disrected by Reema Kagti, who is not a debutant and has directed Honeymoon Travel Pvt Ltd in the past. Talaash is her second venture as a director and the story has been compiled by her and Zoya Akhtar.
Ram Sampath has composed the music of the film and the lyrics of the songs have been given by Javed Akhtar. The music is also expected to be distinct from the regular Bollywood songs.
The film has been co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Aamir Khan and thus this is the second co-production of Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions. The first one was Dil Chahta Hai that was released in 2001. The two companies have not worked together since then. The film will be marketed by Reliance Entertainment.
Mohanan has covered the entire photography of the film and the editing part was taken up by Anand Dubaya.

Conception of Talaash
The film was created over quite a long period of time. After her debut direction project, Honeymoon Travells Pvt Ltd, did just average business at the box office, Reema Kagti, did not take up any projects for direction, even though she was offered quite a few. Instead, she got along with her friend Zoya Akhtar and together they started writing the story for Talaash. Once the story was completed, Reema took the script to Aamir Khan and read it out to him and asked him to play the main lead in the film. He agreed and later on the other actors and actresses of the film were roped in.
Reema Kagti is well acquainted with Aamir Khan as she has worked been the assistant director of Dil Chahta Hai and for Lagaan, as well.
The script of the film excited Aamir a lot and he decided not just to act, but also to co-produce the film.

Shooting of the film
The shooting of the film was completed in three phases. The beginning phase of the film was shot in Mumbai in March 2011, the second phase of the film was shot in Pondicherry and was wrapped up in the month of August 2011. The third phase of the film created a bit of the problem as it was supposed to be shot in Mumbai, but the plan failed as it was an underwater sequence and there were severe visibility problems, due to which the location had to be changed. The third phase of the shooting was then carried out in London at an undisclosed location. The film was completed in November 2011.

Trailer of Talaash
The trailer of Talaash was supposed to be released along with the release of the film Don 2: The chase continues, a film that was also produced by Excel entertainment. But things did not go as planned and the trailer was then released along with Agneepath.

If rumours are to be believed then the film was supposed to be released on the same day as Agneepath, that was, on the 26th of January, but the release of the film was postponed due to technical problems. The film is supposed to be released on the 1st of June now.

Talaash 2012 movie has already garnered a lot of attention from the viewers and the movie being discussed a lot and there are fake posters that are being circulated as well. It remains to be seen, if the film lives up to its expectations or not.
